Week 9 Reading Reflection

1) What was the biggest surprise for you in the reading? In other words, what did you read that stood out the most as different from your expectations?
Just like pretty much everything in this book, I'm surprised by all of the reading because I am so unfamiliar with this subject that it is actually very interesting for me to read about. In this chapter, I'm shocked at how much goes into examining the market you are reaching out to. There are so many steps in the process of analyzing a market and determining what information is valuable and reliable. There's even different ways to approach how you go about your marketing strategy which I just found really interesting.
2) Identify at least one part of the reading that was confusing to you.
This chapter was pretty easy to follow so it nothing was too confusing. The one thing that could've been a little bit confusing had to have been the pricing strategy checklist. It was just a lot, and overwhelming.
3) If you were able to ask two questions to the author, what would you ask? Why?
1. What do you feel is the most important analysis of a market? I would ask him this because he discusses so many different approaches and things that need to be analyzed.
2. What kind of damage could be done if an entrepreneur misses some of the marketing research topics you outlined? I ask this because I'm wondering how important it truly is to address all of them or if it;s just a guide that could or could not be followed.
4) Was there anything you think the author was wrong about? Where do you disagree with what she or he said? How?
I didn't think the author was wrong about anything. It's very hard to disagree with a textbook since everything is backed up with facts and sources. The author doesn't include opinions and is very thorough in his explanations.
